Description:

On-water transport was determined to be the safest and most environmentally sound method for machinery and site equipment to be delivered to a remote section of the Snowy Hydro 2.0 project.

Four of our modular barges were connected to build a work platform with a 48T carrying capacity. Strict protocols to ensure the protection of the highly-sensitive environment were implemented, including bunding under all loads. Bi-weekly transfers of equipment and materials were managed over two winters.

Crew transfers by water were determined to be a safe and efficient method of access, particularly in the winter months when ice and snow were a major hazard on the roads.
